Sukriti Beniwal

Health Economist | Health Policy Researcher

I am an Assistant Project Director at the Georgia Health Policy Center at Georgia State University. My research examines how health policies shape healthcare delivery and access to care, particularly for populations served by Medicaid and other safety-net programs. I study how healthcare providers and organizations respond to changes in public policy, drawing on approaches from economics and quantitative policy evaluation.

Much of my research focuses on maternal healthcare, the healthcare workforce, and the organization and financing of healthcare delivery. I use large-scale administrative data, particularly Medicaid claims, to examine how changes in insurance coverage, provider regulation, and financial incentives affect healthcare delivery and patient outcomes. My dissertation received the 2026 AcademyHealth Outstanding Dissertation Award.

I earned my Ph.D. in Economics from Georgia State University in 2025 and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy & Clinical Practice.
